Ujawniono sposób ekstrakcji ksantohumolu z wychmielin, w którym wychmieliny najpierw nasącza się w warunkach otoczenia alkoholem o liczbie atomów węgla C1 - C4 lub acetonem lub dowolną ich mieszaniną a następnie ekstrahuje nadkrytycznym ditlenkiem węgla pod ciśnieniem 25 - 55 MPa i odseparowuje roztwór ekstraktu pod ciśnieniem 5 - 7 MPa, a pozostały po separacji ditlenek węgla wypuszcza się do atmosfery lub skrapla i zawraca do ekstrakcji.
