Przedmiotem wynalazku jest preparat do mobilizacji małych komórek pluripotentnych (VSEL) oraz komórek macierzystych progenitorowych (HSPC) CD34+ ze szpiku kostnego do krwi obwodowej, charakteryzujący się tym, że zawiera metforminę, a także zastosowanie metforminy do mobilizacji małych komórek pluripotentnych VSEL oraz komórek macierzystych progenitorowych (HSPC) CD34+ ze szpiku kostnego do krwi obwodowej i do stosowania w leczeniu lub zapobieganiu stanów związanych z obniżonym potencjałem regeneracyjnym lub przyspieszonym starzeniem się komórek.
