Abstract

The subject of the invention is a new bacteriophage strain and its use in the production of preparations used in the treatment or prevention of bacterial infections and combating biofilms, especially strains of drug-resistant bacteria of the species Proteus mirabilis. A new bacteriophage strain specific for bacteria belonging to the species Proteus mirabilis is deposited in the Polish Collection of Microorganisms (PCM) under deposit number: F / 00084. The use of the bacteriophage strain refers to the use of the entire bacteriophage in preparations consisting of a single type of phage, as well as in the form of a cocktail containing several or several active bacteriophages. Furthermore, the invention includes the use of purified bacteriophage proteins, preferably lytic enzymes that degrade the bacterial cell wall and degrade bacterial extracellular polysaccharides.
