Sposób sterylizacji przypraw z wykorzystaniem reaktora zimnej plazmy wyposażonym w układ chłodzenia, w ciśnieniu atmosferycznym, w atmosferze argonu lub powietrza, charakteryzuje się tym, że sterylizację prowadzi się przy gęstości energii nie przekraczającej 5 J/cm2 i wartości przyrostu temperatury w czasie trwania procesu nie przekraczającej 10°C. Korzystnie stosuje się przyprawy w osłonie barierowej.
