Abstract

The subject of the application is a method for detecting a reduced risk of developing prostate cancer, characterized in that a biological sample taken from a patient tests iron concentration and determines iron concentration in this patient's body, while determining that the concentration of iron in the patient's body is within corresponding to a concentration of 1114 to 1416 µg Fe / dm3 serum indicates a reduced risk of developing prostate cancer. The subject of the application is also the use of iron concentration, especially in serum, as a prognostic factor for prostate cancer, with the patient's iron concentration in the range corresponding to the concentration from 1114 to 1416 µg Fe / dm3 serum indicates a reduced risk of prostate cancer .
