Abstract

The subject of the application is a safety shock absorber, used as an additional link in the security chain of people working at heights to absorb the forces acting on the human body in the event of a fall from a height of a person working there. The safety chain consists of a fall arrest device (1), a shock absorber (2) and a carabiner (3). The safety damper (2) is a bar coiled in the shape of a spring, the upper, end turns of which are bent and threaded through the rope connection eyelet (5) (4), and the lower, end windings are also bent and threaded through the snap hook connection eyelet (3) a the rules are threaded through the eyelet of the buckle that connects the lower end of the shock absorber (2) with the eyelet of the carabiner (3). The spring is coiled from a thick bar so selected that it behaves like a bar in normal use, so it only stretches within the elasticity of the material from which it is made. Inside the spring there is a folded safety rope, the upper eyelet of which is fixed in the rope connection eyelet (4) (it is coaxial with the eyelet formed by the upper, end coils of the spring), and the lower eyelet is fixed in the clamp (and is coaxial with the eyelet formed by bottom, end turns of the spring). The distance between the upper and lower eyelets of the securing cable in the deployed state is at most equal to the length of the spring bar in the extended state.
