Przedmiotem zgłoszenia są urządzenia i sposoby dostarczania urządzenia uszczelniającego do uszczelnień pęczniejących posiadającego wulkanizowaną niepęczniejącą warstwę zewnętrzną z wyciętym w niej wzorem, aby odsłonić wewnętrzny pęczniejący element uszczelniający. W podanym przykładzie wykonania uszczelnienie pęczniejące zawiera trzpień mający zasadniczo cylindryczną powierzchnię zewnętrzną. Element uszczelniający (118) rozciąga się promieniowo wokół trzpienia, a warstwa niepęczniejąca obwodowo pokrywa zewnętrzną powierzchnię elementu uszczelniającego. W niepęczniejącej warstwie wycina się jeden lub więcej rowków, aby odsłonić część zewnętrznej powierzchni elementu uszczelniającego. Warstwa niepęczniejąca jest skonfigurowana tak, aby uniemożliwić połączenie płynu między płynem pęczniejącym umieszczonym na zewnątrz warstwy niepęczniejącej i częściami zewnętrznej powierzchni elementu uszczelniającego pokrytego warstwą niepęczniejącą.
