Abstract

The subject of the invention is an asphalt binder modified for the construction of a road pavement and a method of its production. The modified asphalt binder is characterized by having a base asphalt in an amount of 55.0 to 97.0%, preferably 80.0% by weight, of a solid product of thermal cracking of polyolefin waste in an amount of 3.0% to 20.0%, preferably 10 0% by weight and additionally optionally an elastomer, preferably SBS copolymer in an amount up to 10.0%, preferably 3.0% by weight, a component of vegetable origin, preferably rapeseed oil in an amount up to 20.0%, preferably 10.0% by weight. The method of producing asphalt binder consists in adding a solid product of thermal cracking of polyolefin waste to the base asphalt heated to 140 ° C and additionally optionally a vegetable component, preferably rapeseed oil, is mixed and heated to a temperature of 160.0 to 165 ° C. C, optionally additionally added an elastomer, preferably SBS copolymer, and then subjected to a heating process at 160.0 ° C to 165 ° C for a period of 45.0 to 90.0 minutes. The invention has application in road construction.
