Abstract
The subject of the application is a method for producing modified thermoplastic starch, in which native starch is mixed with plasticizer(s) and extruded, in which, in the first stage, native starch in an amount of 60 - 70% by weight. homogenized at a temperature of 50 - 80°C with 25 - 35% by weight. plasticizer and optionally with 0.5 - 5 wt.%. multifunctional modifier, which is an aluminosilicate with a layered and tubular structure, is transformed into a dry mixture with simultaneous drainage of water, which in the second stage, bypassing the conditioning stage, is plasticized and extruded with simultaneous degassing of volatile parts, and then granulated. The application also includes a biodegradable composite containing 35 – 55% by weight. thermoplastic starch modified by the method disclosed above, 20 - 45 wt. biodegradable high-molecular polymer and optionally 20 - 55% by weight. filler of natural origin. The obtained composites are intended for the production of single-use materials, including foils, using conventional plastics processing techniques, i.e. extrusion, extrusion blowing and injection.
