Sposób pomiaru średnicy ciągłego wałka wyrobów przemysłu tytoniowego (R) obejmujący kroki, w których: wyznacza się sektory pomiarowe (S1, S2, S3, S4) na ciągłym wałku w odniesieniu do struktury wyrobu (R), wyznacza się czasowe okna pomiarowe (T1, T2, T3, T4) w odniesieniu do struktury produktu (R) i prędkości przesuwu (v) ciągłego wałka, mierzy się średnicę w wyznaczonych sektorach pomiarowych (S1, S2, S3, S4) w wyznaczonych czasowych oknach pomiarowych (T1, T2, T3, T4), przy czym wyznaczone czasowe okna pomiarowe (T1, T2, T3, T4) są zsynchronizowane z wyznaczonymi sektorami pomiarowymi (S1, S2, S3, S4).
