Abstract

The subject of the application is a method of producing a polymer composition intended for thermally and mechanically stable biopolymer films, which consists in that κ-carrageenan, food gelatin, preferably pork 180° Bloom, previously dried, and glycerin are heated, while stirring, in distilled water at a temperature of 70°C - 80°C for 15 minutes. Then an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide is added and stirring is continued at a temperature of 70°C - 80°C for 30 minutes until the reaction mixture is homogeneous, after which the reaction mixture is transferred to a silicone mold and concentrated at a temperature of 90°C for 36 hours.
