Bdwaird Wróblewski Patent owner: Centralne Biuro Konstrukcyjne Urzadzen Budowlanych Przedsiębiorstwo Państwowe Wyodrębnione, Warszawa (Poland) Device for correcting the track alignment of sliding belt conveyors The subject of the invention is a hydraulic or pneumatic device for correcting the track alignment of sliding belt conveyors used in open-pit mines. The introduction of a new technique for transporting mined overburden masses and lignite, sulfur and similar materials in open-pit mines by means of conveyor belts, which, in cooperation with heavy open-pit machines, must be moved periodically as the work progresses, resulted in the necessity of introducing machines or devices for carrying out their adjustment. Currently, heavy tractors with side-mounted lifting equipment are used to move conveyors. Moving conveyors can be divided into two stages: rough moving of the conveyor to a new, established route and leveling (correction) of the conveyor track on the new route. The crane solutions used to move conveyors so far do not have a corrective device and therefore require the tractor to approach the conveyor to a precisely defined distance that allows it to catch the rail head running along the conveyor, and make it impossible to level the conveyor route after the rough moving. Both of these activities, using the devices used so far, require a lot of time and 15 20 30 use of additional machines such as bulldozers and tractors. The device for correcting the alignment of the conveyor belt track according to the invention facilitates and shortens the time needed to grip the rail head and allows for leveling the conveyor belt track that has been roughly shifted to a new route, eliminating the need to use additional machines. The device according to the invention is shown in the drawing, where Fig. 1 shows the device in a side view and Fig. 2 — in a top view. The device for correcting the alignment of the track consists of a supporting structure I, a hydraulic cylinder 2, a connector 3, a turnbuckle 4 and a safety device 5. The piston rod of the double-acting hydraulic cylinder 2, flange-mounted to the supporting structure 2, is connected to the turnbuckle. "4 by means of a connector 3. The puller 4 is slidably mounted in the supporting structure element 6 provided with a cast iron sleeve 7 and a lubrication valve 8 and is secured in the connector 3 by a nut 9 supported by a spherical washer 10. The guides 11 prevent the rotation of the connector 3 and the cylinder piston rod connected to it. The design of the connector 3 and the element 6 enables the sliding and rotation of the puller 4 during operation. The safety device 5 is used to lock the device during rough shifting of the belt-conductor structure. The pocket 12 is used to store the safety device 5 during operation of the puller 4, when mounting the head on the rail head and during corrections. The puller eye allows the device to be connected to the head currently used in mines, which encloses the rail head with rollers. The operating principle of the device involves extending and retracting the cylinder piston rod and the associated puller using an oil stream directed from the distributor to points "A" or "B" of the hydraulic cylinder. The correction mechanism discussed can be used instead of the previously used stays in any tractor with a hydraulic or pneumatic system. The mechanism solution discussed above allows for easy gripping of the rail head. It is enough to bring it within the cylinder's stroke range. After gripping the rail, retracting it, and locking the device with a safety catch, the coarse sliding can begin. 15 20 Retracting the puller causes the conveyor structure to be pulled back by the same distance. Appropriate control of the piston rod movement, and therefore the puller, allows for the alignment of the conveyor track by pulling its structure to its most protruding point. The use of this type of mechanism shortens the time needed to move the conveyor, reduces the downtime of the main mining machines, and consequently translates into significant savings for the mine.
