Tb, 11/8 (T- MKP B 21 c 23/Js UKD Co-inventors of the invention: Jerzy Bigaj, Tadeusz Czak, Marian Fiutowski, Józef Domagala, Lechislaw Curyło Patent owner: Krakowska Fabryka Kabli, Krakow (Poland) Lead melting kettle for cable presses The subject of the invention is a lead melting kettle with a hermetically sealed chamber for liquid lead, applicable in cable presses intended for putting lead sheaths on sleeve-shaped cables. Until now, cable presses had lead melting kettles with an open melting tank, as a result of which the liquid lead contained in it on its entire surface oxidized, forming lead oxides, which through The cutlery particles penetrated the press's recipient and then onto the cable's sheath, causing the lead sheath to leak. Furthermore, the very long, small-diameter cutlery made it difficult to properly clean it of any remaining solidified lead oxides, which, during repeated operations, detached from the walls and transferred to the cable's lead sheath. Furthermore, the boiler periodically had to undergo labor-intensive cleaning, causing interruptions in the cable press's operation. The boiler manufactured according to the invention does not have the above-described defects. It prevents the formation of lead oxides and guarantees the tightness of the lead sheath and its proper quality. This is achieved by using a hermetic chamber for liquid lead in the boiler. The invention is illustrated in the drawing, where Fig. 1 shows a general view of the boiler, Fig. 2 — its side view, and Fig. 3 — a top view. The boiler is divided by a partition 2 into two parts, namely an open part 8, intended for loading lead blocks and their initial melting, and a closed part 4 intended for molten lead. In the closed part of the boiler 4, an oxygen-free atmosphere prevails, created by the hermetic closure of the chamber by means of screws 7, which prevents the formation of lead oxides. In the open chamber 8, after being loaded with lead blocks, the lead is initially melted, then the liquid lead flows through the opening 9 into the hermetically sealed chamber 4, which contains the mixer 3, the drain valve 11, and the guide calibers 5. The mixer 3 is sealed with a sealing sleeve 1, which prevents atmospheric air from entering the closed chamber from outside the boiler, ensuring the homogeneity of the liquid lead alloy. The hermetically sealed chamber 4 has a sleeve-shaped outlet 10 in its lower part, which contains the guides 5 of the drain valve 11, terminated with a spout 6, through which the liquid lead alloy flows through the drain pipe to the press recipient. The cutlery 6 has small dimensions: length 50 mm and internal diameter 0 40 mm and is easy to clean from oxides formed during each pouring of liquid lead. The liquid lead is drained through a sliding valve 11 with a screw 7, located in a sleeve 1, one side of which is tightly connected to the boiler cover, and the other side is immersed in the molten lead, ensuring a tight connection, through an opening 12 to the cutlery 6 and then through a drain pipe to the press receiver. The lead melting kettle manufactured according to the invention, with a hermetically sealed chamber 4 for liquid lead, preventing the ingress of air from the outside of the boiler and the formation of lead oxides, can be operated until it is completely worn out without the need for periodic, labor-intensive cleaning.
