4 — uklad prze¬ kaznika wedlug wynalazku, a fig. 5 — wykresy napiecia sieci w funkcji czasu w przypadku sto¬ sowania przekaznika wedlug wynalazku. 2 oba na¬ piecia bi i b2 przylozone sa jednoczesnie do dwóch wejsc obwodu logicznego Ii w czasie pomiedzy momentem t3 i t2 wskutek czego obwód logiczny dostarcza sygnalu wyjsciowego w tym okresie czasu i decyduje o dzialaniu urzadzen zabezpie¬ czajacych siec.W przypadku rozruchu elektrowozu narastanie pradu do wartosci maksymalnej odbywa sie w kil¬ ku stadiach w czasie odpowiadajacym warunkom zwarcia, jak to pokazuje fig. 5b.W przypadku przekaznika wedlug patentu glównego uruchomienie urzadzen zabezpieczaja¬ cych nastapiloby w czasie t2, kiedy to krzywa A osiagnie próg S, gdyz oba wejscia Ii sa wówczas jednoczesnie zasilane. PL PL PL07/11/1968 Belgium Published: 20/12/1971 64181 KI. 20 k, 11 MKP B 60 m, 5/00 Co-inventors: Willy Andries, Marcel Vanderstraeten, Jacaues van Hulse Patent holder: Ateliers de Constructions Electriaues de Charleroi Charleroi (Belgium) Relay for detecting short circuits in direct current traction networks The subject of the invention is an improvement of the relay for detecting short circuits in direct current traction networks according to the main patent No. 58286. The relay for detecting short circuits in direct current traction networks known from the description of the main patent No. 58286 comprises two electronic trigger circuits with adjustable thresholds, one of which responds to the amplitude of the network current increase and provides an output signal when the amplitude of this increase exceeds a predetermined value. The second circuit responds to the amplitude of the derivative of the current from the network and has a time delay such that the output signal is delivered after the time after which the amplitude of this derivative exceeds the set threshold, the output signals of both electronic circuits being fed to a type I logic circuit which delivers a pulse causing the network protective devices to be switched on when both signals occur simultaneously. This relay fulfils the task in most cases, i.e. it determines the difference between the short-circuit current, the rise of which is greater than or almost equal to 800 A and which is established in a time of about 5 to 30 milliseconds depending on the distance of the fault location from the supply station, and determines the difference between the currents occurring during normal operation, the order of which is 10-15 30 The magnitude of the increment value and the settling time do not occur simultaneously. It was found that starting an electric locomotive whose motors are connected in a series-parallel configuration causes an increase in the current in the network of the order of 1000-1500 A, with settling occurring within 25-30 milliseconds, which corresponds to the characteristics of a short circuit. The only difference is that the current increases in two or three stages, in steps, during the starting process. This phenomenon has been used in the present invention, the purpose of which is to distinguish the starting of an electric locomotive from a short circuit in the network. According to the present invention, a voltage proportional to the increase in current in the network is applied to the input of one electronic circuit containing a flip-flop through a selector circuit with an extended operating time, which regulates the magnitude of this voltage, setting it either at the nominal level or at a lower level, depending on whether the additional logic circuit of type I provides or does not provide an output signal controlling the selective circuit, wherein both inputs of the additional logic circuit are supplied, respectively, with the input voltage from the second circuit containing the second flip-flop and the delayed output signal. The subject of the invention is shown in the example of the drawing, where Fig. 1 shows the relay circuit for detecting short circuits according to the main patent, Fig. 2 shows the graphs of the transformer voltage as a function of time for the circuit of Fig. 1, Fig. 3 shows the graph of the increase of the current in the network as a function of time for starting an electric locomotive whose motors are connected in a series-parallel circuit, Fig. 4 shows the relay circuit according to the invention, and Fig. 5 shows the graphs of the network voltage as a function of time in the case of using the relay according to the invention. The relay circuit shown in Fig. 1 consists of two flip-flops Bi and B2, whose inputs are supplied respectively by the secondary voltages of transformers Ti and T2, which provide voltages varying proportionally to the increase in the current in the network and to the derivative of this current —-— . dt The output of flip-flop Bi is connected to one of the inputs of the inductive circuit Ii, and the output of flip-flop B2 is connected via a timer circuit To to the second input of the logical circuit Ii, whereby the output signal from flip-flop B2, after passing through the timer To, which sets the duration of this signal, is fed to another input of the logical circuit Ii, whose output signal activates the network protection devices. Since flip-flops Bi and B2 have an adjustable threshold S, which is the same for both flip-flops, then in the case when the voltage from transformer Ti (curve A) exceeds this threshold S, flip-flop Bi supplies the output voltage Bi depending on the duration of this exceedance, i.e. from time t2 to time t4, whereas in the case when the voltage from transformer T2 also exceeds the threshold S (curve B) - then flip-flop B2 supplies the output voltage b2 starting from the time ti, at which time the threshold S has been exceeded, and this voltage is maintained for the time T, determined by the timer circuit To, thanks to which the output voltage b2 disappears at the time t3. In the case shown in Fig. 2, both voltages bi and b2 are applied simultaneously to the two inputs of the logic circuit Ii in the time between the moments t3 and t2, as a result of which the logic circuit supplies an output signal in this time period and decides about the operation of the network protection devices. In the case of starting the electric locomotive, the current increases to the maximum value in several stages in the time corresponding to the conditions short circuit, as shown in Fig. 3. The relay circuit according to the present invention, in addition to the elements Ti, T2, Bi, B2, T and Ii, comprises a selector Si which can switch the input of the circuit with a flip-flop Bi from the tap Pi for the nominal voltage of the transformer Ti to the tap P2 for a lower voltage. The selector S1 is controlled by a delayed signal coming from the logical element I2 and has a delay time selected so that the tap P2 remains on for some time after the control signal disappears. One of the inputs of the additional logical element I2 is supplied with the input voltage of the flip-flop B2, and the other input is supplied with a signal coming from the output of the circuit of the time element To, this signal being delayed due to passing through the delay element R. The additional logical element I2 provides an output signal only when two input signals appear in it simultaneously. Fig. 5a shows the voltage proportional to the increase of the current A I in the network (curve A), a' applied to the input of the flip-flop Bi as a function of time. from tap Pi via selector Si and a voltage proportional to the derivative of the current in the network (curves B and B') applied to the input of flip-flop B2, which in the case of starting the electric locomotive has two successive phases, where the same threshold S was assumed for flip-flops Bi and B2. When at time ti the curve B reaches the threshold S, the time element To will supply one of the inputs of the logical element Ii with a signal of duration T, as shown in Fig. 5b. In the case of the relay according to the main patent, the activation of the protective devices would occur at time t2, when curve A reaches the threshold S, because both inputs Ii are then simultaneously supplied. Meanwhile, the signal applied to the input of the logical element Ii, of duration T, appears at the input of the additional logical element I2 with a delay Ri caused by the delay element R, and during its duration, i.e. between times t'i and t'2, when the curve B' is above the threshold S. Moreover, both inputs of the additional logical element I2 are powered, and this element provides an output signal to actuate the selector S1 connecting the tap P2 to the input of the flip-flop Bi. Due to the delayed action, the selector S1 remains in this position for some time, and the voltage proportional to the increase in current increases according to the dashed line A', which as a rule does not reach the threshold S, except when at the same time there is a sudden additional increase current caused by a short circuit, which in such a situation would trigger the network protection device. Thanks to the delay R, exceeding the S threshold by curve B has no influence on the additional logical element I2; only exceeding the S threshold by curve B' has such an influence. This makes it possible to distinguish the case when the current increases only once from the case when at least two stages of this increase occur, and to prevent tripping in the latter case. Various relay circuits shown in the example embodiment in Fig. 4 can be implemented differently. PL PL PL
