Description

Pierwszenstwo; 21 stycznia 1924 r. (P^rancja).Niniejszy wynalazek dotyczy sposobu destylacji wielkich naraz ilosci rozmaitych substancyj. Krazki i odpowiednie obrecze ulatwiaja ruch obrotowy i podtrzymuja przyrzad.Cylinder utworzony jest z zewnetrzne¬ go, odpowiednio zbudowanego plaszcza 7, zaopatrzonego w podluzne usztywnienia. Regulowanie temperatury moze byc samo¬ czynnie uskutecznione zapomoca odpowied¬ niego przyrzadu 19, poruszanego przez sa¬ moczynny registrator 29 temperatury, umie¬ szczony wewnatrz przewodu 9* ogrzanych gazów. PL PL PLPriority; January 21, 1924 (France). The present invention relates to a method for distilling large quantities of various substances simultaneously. Continuous operation of the apparatus is achieved by means of combination with auxiliary devices. The method according to the invention consists essentially in passing a gas at a sufficiently high temperature through the mass to be distilled so that complete distillation can be achieved without the use of external heat. In the attached schematic drawing, Fig. 1 shows a cross-section of a rotating distillation apparatus combined with auxiliary devices for continuous operation; Fig. 2 - the same type of apparatus in which auxiliary devices are so arranged that the heat of the distilled or heated products can be recovered before they are discharged; Fig. 3 - Schematic cross-section of a rotary distillation device. As shown in Fig. 1, the substances to be distilled are introduced into a box 1 of an appropriate shape, from where they pass through a chamber 2 into an inclined rotary cylinder 3, the length of which varies depending on the given conditions. Cylinder 3 has holes along a certain part of its length. Usually, the engine sets the cylinder 3 in motion by means of gears 6, the last wheel of which is in contact with the cylinder teeth. Discs and appropriate hoops facilitate the rotational movement and support the device. The cylinder is formed of an external, suitably constructed jacket 7, provided with longitudinal stiffeners. The entire structure rotates in a second, stationary jacket. 9, having in its lower part a number of funnel-shaped vessels 8. Partitions 10-10 limit the part of the cylinder surface through which, as described below, heated gases can pass. These funnels, in the shown embodiment, in number three, are connected to a pipe or pipes 9' leading to the next devices, each funnel being provided with a valve for the inflow of heated gases. These valves, as well as the mechanism moving the cylinder, are located in part 5. The upper part of the box 1 is connected by a pipe or pipes 13 to that part of the device in which the distillation products and hot gases are produced. The operation of the entire device is as follows: In the rotating cylinder 3, constructed inside from a suitable material, distillation This is achieved not by external heating, but by introducing gases heated to a given temperature into the mass of distillation. The rotary motion of the device agitates the substance to be distilled, which slowly sinks and, as a carbonized product, falls into chamber 4, which is provided with a water seal in its lower part. At the bottom of this chamber, there is a mechanical device that continuously removes the carbonized product. The distillation products, together with the heated gases, penetrate into the tube or tubes 13 leading to box 1; the heated gases, before reaching tube 13, pass through the mass from the bottom upwards through funnels 5* and holes in the distillation cylinder. These products pass successively, e.g., through the light oil condenser 14, filter 15, coils 16 for heavier oils. The solid gas reaches the gas meter 11, from where part of this gas is discharged and burned in the furnace 17. By heating with these gases, temperatures up to 2000°C can be easily achieved, and the carbonated mass, after taking into account all possible losses, is heated to 1500°C. The temperature should be regulated, depending on the substance being distilled, and for this purpose the necessary amount of cold gas, steam or water is added to the furnace 17 or to the device 18, which lowers the temperature in the pipe or pipes 9* connected to the funnels to the desired degree. Temperature regulation can be achieved automatically by means of a suitable device 19, operated by an automatic register 29. temperature, placed inside the heated gas conduit 9*. From this it follows that if a certain amount of gas is combusted in the furnace 17, the whole device operates continuously and with very little maintenance, thanks to which a very large amount of distilled substance can be introduced into the cylinder 3 without any danger. Heating and recuperation devices will, of course, be used depending on the given conditions, and the above-described device is only an example of an embodiment of the invention. The device shown in Fig. 2 can also be used for burning any hard body and in particular for the production of plaster, lime and cement, for deoiling and drying various bodies. Then, the device In this case, the only change is that the auxiliary devices are used differently for distillation and roasting. The water seal can also be changed, depending on the conditions. In the example given below, this seal is unchanged, but the blown air, produced in any way described above, is divided into two parts as follows: A pipe or pipes 13, which emerge from the upper part of box 1, conduct the gas to condenser 21, in which the distillation products settle to the bottom. Primary cold air enters through 22, and secondary heated air through 23. The air penetrates the bulk of the substance through holes in the cylinder, as above and is previously heated in a suitable heater 24 of any type. A fan is placed in the line 25 which connects the condenser with the distillation apparatus. Excess gas is discharged through pipe or pipes 27. Pressure regulation is effected by automatic valve 11. The unheated portion of air is therefore blown at the end of the cylinder and is heated upon contact with the distillation or calcined substance, from which it absorbs heat, and additional heated gases pass through the cylinder holes, the temperature of which is regulated in the manner described above.
