The fan connected to the air inlet duct is controlled by the output signal. The known device is activated by opening the throttle and inserting the actuating lever in the middle position.

The airflow can be varied to propel water, snow and other contaminants from surfaces such as roads or paths that are being cleaned or drained. The known air "cutter" assembly is long enough to allow one lane of a road or runway to be drained and cleaned in one pass, but can also be shortened to allow narrower paths to be processed.

The disadvantage of the known solution is its use only for road surfaces and limiting the reach of the "cutting knife" by the width of the beam of its housing.
