Szczególnie polipragmazja zwiazana z leczeniem chorób to- warzyszacych, w tym cukrzycy i nadcisnienia tetniczego powoduje zmiany w wydzielinie gruczolów Me- iboma i stan zapalny. Poczatkowo zapalenie wywoluje dyskomfort. Jednak z czasem moze dochodzic do powaznych uszkodzen powierzchni oka. Dlugotrwaly przebieg zle leczonego zapalenia moze powodowac zmiany ksztaltu powiek i uporczywe lzawienie, wypadanie i siwienie rzes oraz metaplazje gruczolów Meiboma z wtórnym, nieprawidlowym wzrostem rzes. Efektem jest stale rysowanie rogówki przez patologiczne rzesy, co prowadzi do ubytków nablonka i silnego, klujacego bólu oka z obrzekiem powiek. To stadium utrudnia juz codzienne funkcjonowanie w stopniu znaczacym. PL PLDescription of the Design: The invention is a device for massaging the eyelid margins, particularly in inflammatory conditions associated with meibomian gland failure. Blepharitis associated with meibomian gland failure is a common condition. Its frequency and severity increase with age, so that in older age groups, this problem affects the majority of patients. Polypharmacy, particularly associated with the treatment of concomitant diseases, including diabetes and hypertension, causes changes in meibomian gland secretions and inflammation. Initially, the inflammation causes discomfort. However, over time, serious damage to the ocular surface can occur. Long-term, poorly treated inflammation can cause changes in the shape of the eyelids and persistent tearing, eyelash loss and graying, and meibomian gland metaplasia with secondary, abnormal eyelash growth. The result is constant scratching of the cornea by the abnormal eyelashes, leading to epithelial defects and severe, stinging eye pain with eyelid swelling. This stage significantly impedes daily functioning. The patient has difficulty opening their eyes and experiences constant tearing. Treating blepharitis is quite difficult, as it only alleviates the symptoms through eyelid hygiene. The patient is forced to thoroughly clean the eyelid margins daily and massage them to remove accumulated secretions. Discontinuing these treatments immediately results in a recurrence of symptoms. The need for regularity and diligence is a challenge for many patients. Patients with limited finger or hand mobility, such as those with rheumatoid arthritis or strokes, especially those with limited mobility in the fingers or hands, have significant difficulty performing the precise movements required during eyelid massage. Patent No. US11103417B2 discloses a Meibomian Gland Roller System that allows for self-treatment of the primary cause of dry eyes, namely tear oil deficiency. The system includes a soft, eye-shaped gel eye pad adapted to be heated and applied to a user's eyelid; a handle including a power source; a loading station structure comprising: (a) a heating element configured to receive and heat the soft, eye-shaped gel eye pad; (b) a loading station comprising a first end of the handle; and c) an indicator light; a cylinder comprising: an axis comprising a heating element and a gel-filled cylinder configured to rotate about the axis, the gel-filled cylinder comprising a temperature sensor adjacent to the surface of the gel-filled cylinder to monitor the surface temperature, and the temperature sensor being spaced from the heating element. A solution is known from the description CN214049662U, which relates to a therapeutic eye massager comprising a spherical outer shell made of silica gel, a spherical inner shell made of PP (polypropylene) plastic, an arc-shaped support made of PP plastic, a vibration-generating element, and a power-transmitting element. Utility model No. CN205215696U covers an eye massage device, including a connecting cover, a body with a massaging appearance, an indicator light, a buckle lock, a massage head, a vibration sensor, a raised anti-slip surface, a charging interface, and a battery. Also known from the description of utility model CN218010336U is an eye massage device, which consists of a handle and a swinging rod mounted on the handle in a swinging mode, a rotating seat and a first ball body mounted on a swinging socket in a swinging mode are installed on the swinging rod, and a second ball body protruding from the first ball body is further positioned on the swinging socket. The second ball body can rotate relative to the first ball body. There are no devices on the market for safe, gentle massage of the eyelid margin. Available devices often come with a heating element and are designed to massage the eyelid away from the eyelid margin, which reduces the effectiveness of removing retained secretions from the glandular openings. The utility model solves the problem of designing a handy device for effective eyelid massage, especially in cases of eyelid margin inflammation associated with meibomian gland failure. The eyelid massage device has a massaging tip, which is a massaging roller made of a resilient material permanently mounted on a shaft, the surface of which is profiled with small circumferential bulges in the form of evenly spaced semicircles. The shaft is rotatably connected to a motor coupled to a battery. The motor, battery, and shaft are located in a housing, which in the part encompassing the motor (5) and battery (6) constitutes a handle. The housing is also equipped with a switch and a charging socket. Preferably, the massaging roller is made of silicone. Preferably, the bulges are no higher than 0.3 mm. Preferably, the shaft is connected to the motor via a gear. Preferably, the housing is made of plastic. The proposed device is designed to facilitate and support eyelid edge massage through automatic, reciprocating, gentle movements of the silicone tip with shallow recesses, as well as a comfortable handle that helps hold the device in place. The device allows for a second person to perform the massage. A parent can easily perform this massage on a child. The device allows for a gentle, pressure-free massage, thus allowing safe operation around the eyelids, while the soft tip reduces the risk of iatrogenic injuries. The use of a gear mechanism enables reciprocating movement, which in turn allows for eyelid massage by guiding the roller across the eyelid surface without removing it from the eyelid. The utility model is illustrated in a schematic drawing showing the device in a side view with the interior of the housing visible. Example: The eyelid massage device has a massaging tip, which is a massaging roller 1 permanently mounted on a shaft 3, wherein the roller is made of silicone and has a surface profiled with small circumferential bulges 2 in the form of evenly distributed semicircles, where the semicircles are 0.2 mm high. The shaft 3 is connected in rotation via a gear 4 to a motor 5, coupled to a battery 6, wherein the motor 5 together with the gear 4 and the battery 6 and the shaft 3 are placed in a plastic housing 7A, the housing in the part encompassing the motor 5 and the battery 6 forms a comfortable grip for the hand 7B. The housing is also equipped with a switch (8) and a charging socket (9). After washing the face and eyelids with warm water, the patient can easily perform a several-minute massage, followed by the application of moisturizing drops to remove the massaged discharge from the conjunctival sac. Furthermore, the device can be used to treat complications of blepharitis such as a chalazion or stye. After warming the inflamed area, local massage can begin.
