Abstract
The present invention relates to a new process for industrial production of microgranules (pellets) containing omeprazole. The product obtained is stable over a period of time compatible with the pharmaceutical requirements and shows gastroresistance and dissolution characteristics suitable for the generally established shelf life for the product. Said process consists in coating an inert nucleus, made up of starch and sucrose, with an active layer made up of micronized omeprazole and alkaline sodium salts, coating this layer, in turn, with a water-soluble isolation layer, the latter being lastly coated with a gastroresistant or enteric layer.
