Abstract

The transversal slats of a mattress base are fixed to the side bars (1) of the base by caps (2,3). One type of cap (3) has a window (10) in its upper wall (5a) and its lower wall (5b) is fixed on the bar by a staple inserted through the window. The other type of cap (2) is higher and has a base (6) which is extended by a fixing foot (7). This is fixed to the side of the bar of the mattress base by two staples (8). The two types of cap are fixed alternately to the mattress base.
