Abstract

This invention describes a coriander variety called "Sandra", obtained by repeated individual selection, in a "Braila" population, designed to be cultivated for harvest in the southern regions of the country. This variety, according to the invention, has higher values of some morphological features, biological components of the production capacity, better resistance to main diseases, fruit falling, dropping or breaking, than the "Braila population. It has a high production capacity, with average fruit yield between 13.0 and 19.0 q/ha, averaging 15.8 q/ha, representing an increase of 37% over the witness variety. Fruit content of volatile oil is also high, under different testing conditions averaging 0.87, 1.00, 1, 1.11%, which represents an increase of 4 to 21% over the witness population. The average volatile oil production of the "Sandra" variety is 15.8l/ha, 6.1 l/ha higher than that of the "Braila" population (a 63%increase).
