The process comprises a low pressure 200-220 deg.C reaction under inert gas in the presence of citric acid and hypophosphoric acid or salts of these. The composition contains: triesters 5-12, mono- and diesters 88-95%, depending on the fatty acid and polyhydroxylic alcohol molar ratio. The mixt. is made up of partial and total esters of di- and polyhydroxylic alcohols with fatty acids.
