A self-locking and indexing nozzle, used in injection moulding plastics, prevents melt-flow from the plasticating cylinder. The nozzle is constructed from a threaded body, a plunger, and a lid. The plunger carries some longitudinal channels. These contain some balls pressed in. Any required nozzle position can be obtained via some discs which are adjusted with the aid of controlling screws. Material flow is made possible through longitudinal channels of the plunger. A working position is obtained, when the material current starts to flow, when two conical surfaces come in contact, on having rotated the lid in a desired position, by a fixed key.
