O bobina electromagnetica este avansata de-a lungul respectivului canal de combustibil la o pozitie adiacenta fata de arcuri si un impuls de curent este trecut prin bobina, exercitînd astfel o forta electromagnetica de respingere asupra arcului, avînd o componenta în directia de deplasare ceruta.
