Abstract
The invention relates to the modification of the flow mechanism inside the plate heat exchanger (PHE) that currently exists as shown in figure (3 and 4). This invention can significantly enhance the efficiency and the thermal performance of the PHE. Generally, the gasket is used to seal the space between the plates, and to regulate the fluid flow direction on the plate's surface. In this invention, the gasket is placed at the middle of the plate, and it is closed (the middle gasket) from the entering side of the fluid and opened from the opposite side to the entering one. in addition, the periphery for both ports that locate on the opposite side to the entering one are closed by the gasket to prevent fluid mixing as shown in figure (5). Therefore, the first fluid enters from the open port and flow on that half of the plate, then it flows inversely on the second half of the same plate and exits from there. Simultaneously, the second fluid is flowing exactly the same on the adjacent plat
