Abstract

The fixing device has a holder (2) for the arm of the person being treated, supporting the lower arm whilst it is oriented in a direction defined by a first line extending through the elbow joint midpoint and the wrist midpoint. The hand is supported whilst oriented in a direction defined by a second line extending through the wrist midpoint and the midpoint between the middle finger knuckle midpoint and index finger knuckle midpoint. - The second line may optionally deviate from the lower arm direction by an angle of at least 5 (maximum 30) deg. A means is also provided for pulling the hand in a direction essentially corresponding to the hand direction, preferably using a device which pulls the hand via one or more fingers. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method of treating wrist injuries or the like using this device.
