Abstract

The present invention relates to a device for holding an object in a vehicle. The object is preferably a beverage container (23, 24). The device incorporates a holder plate (13) which has a passage (18) to allow it to accommodate said object. The holder plate (13) is arranged to be movable between a retracted state whereby it is substantially positioned inside the wall element (1) and an extended state whereby it protrudes from the wall element (1) in a substantially horizontal plane (h). The device incorporates a mechanism which allows pivoting of the holder plate (13) so that the latter's upper surface (13a) is, in the retracted state, at an angle (a) of less than 30° relative to a vertical plane (v).
