Abstract

A machine for working of a surface, such as the removing of a damaged concrete layer, with a high-pressure water jet, comprises a carrier, such as a vehicle (11), that has a crosswise feed beam (12) carrying a cart (13) which in turn carries a lance (14) with a water nozzle (22) which is adjustable to give an angle of attack in the direction of movement of the cart and at the same time can oscillate in a plane transverse to the feed beam. When one adjusts the cutting depth by setting the speed along the feed beam, one always obtains an evenly cut surface in that the speed of the cart and the frequency of oscillation are coupled in a fixed ratio.
