Abstract
1434690 Tuyeres DES ANCIENS ETABS PAUL WURTH SA 10 July 1974 [30 July 1973 7 Dec 1973] 30606/74 Heading F4B A tuyere stock, articulated at 51 and 53, has blast nozzle 1 which is rigidly connected by the flange 27 and stud bolts 29 to the check ring of a blast tuyere 9. The blast nozzle/blast tuyere assembly thus formed is urged into contact with a surface 24 of the tuyere arc cooler 17 by a spring (not shown) which operates against the limit 41. The blast tuyere check ring has a surface 19 which is complementary to the surface 24 and the two surfaces, which may be spherical, form an articulated connection. A sealing 0-ring 25 may be fitted in the connection. The blast nozzle/blast tuyere assembly may be readily withdrawn from the connection for maintenance. The blast nozzle refractory lining 21 may be extended over part of the tuyere 23. In a further embodiment the articulated connection between the tuyere are cooler 17 and blast nozzle/blast tuyere assembly is made by the surface of the blast nozzle flange (35), Fig. 3 (not shown), co-operating with the arc cooler surface 24.
