Abstract

1426308 Easy-open can ends STOLLE CORP 8 May 1974 [13 July 1973] 20248/74 Addition to 1384512 Heading B8D In a modification of the easy-open metal can end of the parent Specification 1,384,512, an additional bead 23 or bead portion 23a, Fig. 4 (not shown), is associated with each of the pair of parallel beads 13 located in a detachable tearout scoreline-defined panel on either side of a pull-tab securing rivet to provide V-shaped bead configurations having their apices directed towards a portion of the scoreline adjacent the rivet. The beads 13 are spaced apart by a distance (A), Fig. 5 (not shown), equal to the rivet diameter plus one sixteenth of an inch, and each bead extends forwardly and rearwardly of the rivet centre by a distance (B) of 40% to 50% of the rivet diameter and by a distance (C) of 73% to 83% of the rivet diameter respectively.
