Abstract

1530715 Stairway elevators J DE REUS BV 9 July 1976 [17 July 1975] 28742/76 Heading B8L A stairway elevator for a wheel chair comprises a frame 11 with a platform 3 for the chair, a motor 12, Fig. 5, to drive the frame along a guide rail 20 up and down a stairway, fences 6, 7, Fig. 7, to prevent the chair moving off the platform during assent or descent and means to raise and lower the platform 3 relative to the frame at the top and bottom of the stairway, e.g. a motor 22 which drives a screw 24 located in a bush 25 connected to the platform. The platform is arranged to be flat with the floor during loading and is raised relative to the frame prior to ascent or descent of the frame along the guide rail. The fences 6, 7 are operated by respective electric motors 35, 36 via crank arms. The motors 12, 22, 35, 36 are operated in sequence.
