Abstract

The mat is composed of a closed-cell polyethylene foam. It can be made into the desired shape by deforming a polyethylene foam web in the elastic or plastic state under vacuum or overpressure. Use is preferably made of a foam which is laminated on one or both sides with a polyethylene film. The mat is of a low weight and does not have a disturbing odour, it has only a low degree of water absorbency and is resistant to ageing, rotting and organic solvents. <IMAGE>
