Abstract

1425111 Selective printing XEROX CORP 23 Feb 1973 [25 Feb 1972] 9073/73 Heading B6F [Also in Divisions G4 and G3] A printer comprises a type disc 18 stepped to printing position by a stepping motor 27, and acted on by a hammer 19, the disc and hammer being supported on carriage which is stepped along a print line with respect to a platen 11. The disc comprises glass filled nylon radial spokes, and is fixed to the shaft 28 of the motor 27 by a releasable coupling comprising a rubber hub 31. The position of the disc 18 is detected by discs 36, 35 and the motor is driven in such a direction as to position the disc the more quickly.
