Abstract

FLUIDIZED BED TREATMENT OF KRAFT BLACK LIQUOR WITH H2S ABSORPTION Disclosed is a process for treatment of Kraft Black Liquor for the purpose of recovery of valuable chemicals contained therein. This process comprises concentrating the black liquor, gasifying in a fluidized bed reactor the organic components while allowing the in organic components to remain in the solid form, recovering a portion of the heat from the off gases, treating the gases to absorb H2S with absorbing solutions of the nonvolatized inorganic components of the black liquor, and returning the used absorbing solution for treatment to form cooking liquor for the digester.
