Abstract

CARBON BLACK PELLETER A carbon black pelleter is provided with a hollow pin shaft rotationally arranged in a housing. The shaft has openings connecting its hollow interior with the annular space between the shaft and the housing. The shaft is connected to a source of pelleting fluid. A carbon black pelleter has a shaft with pins arranged coaxially and rotatably within a cylindrical housing. The ratio of the internal diameter D of the housing to the external diameter d of the shaft is in the range of about 1.3 to about 2. A carbon black pelleter comprising a pinned shaft rotatably arranged in a housing with the pin density being essentially constant over the entire shaft and with the further provision that not more than about 3% of the pins are located at the same axial location and that not more than about 10% of the pins are located at the same azimuthal location is provided for.
