Abstract

A locking device for a well cover, for example for cesspools and water wells. A rotary shaft 13 is mounted in a bearing device 21 fixed in a continuous hole 12 in the cover, which shaft 13, at its lower end 17, is provided with threads 18 arranged to interact with a lower fixture 19 so that this is displaced along the shaft when the shaft is rotated. The lower fixture 19 is hinge-connected to a linkage 20, 25 arranged to expand upon displacement of the said lower fixture 19 in the direction of the bottom side 24 of the cover 5. The slewing brackets 20, 25 belonging to the linkage are hereupon pressed against the inner face 4 of the well 1 and clamp down the cover 5. <IMAGE>
