Abstract

An energy system having means adapted to take up energy in a flowing medium and each comprising at least one body (10) which is lighter than the medium and has a high lift/drag ratio. The body (10) is self-stabilizing in the direction of flow of the medium and steerable so that it can be caused to perform a periodical up and down movement of an amplitude considerably in excess of the largest dimension of the body. Each member comprising one or more bodies (10) is connected to a rope (11) for transmission of the up and down movement to an assembly (12) driven thereby.
