Abstract

A liq. emollient for shaving contains >=2 silicone fluids having viscosities in the range 5-5,000 centistokes, the viscosity of the mixt. being 110 plus-or-minus 10 centistokes, and 20-30% isopropyl myristate and 0.05-0.5% azulene. The mixt. is applied to the cutting edge of the dry razor, which is then used on previously wetted skin. Time consuming treatment of the skin with, e.g. shaving foams, is not necessary. The skin surface is not obscured, so cutting scars, warts etc. can be avoided. The blade can be rinsed to remove hairs without the need to reapply the compsn. which is sticky and hydrophobic.
