Cutter blades 4 for crushing machines of the kind in which a plurality of cutters is mounted on two parallel shafts arranged to be driven in counter- rotation, and in which each blade has flat end faces with protrusions 10, 11 and recesses distributed regularly around the blade circumference in alternate succession, are made of a high grade flexible steel with the outer edge of the protrusions 10, 11 and recesses having an insert 13 of hard material formed by building-up welding and providing a cutting edge over the entire periphery. <IMAGE>
