Abstract

A heating plant with a primary heat source 10 having a relatively low or varying maximum temperature, and a secondary heat source 11 having a constant, higher temperature. The primary heat source 10 is coupled ahead of the secondary one 11 in the direction of flow of the heat-carrying medium, and has a by-pass valve 14 coupled in series with the by-pass valve 15 of the secondary heat source 11. A differential thermostat 33, 34 compares the temperature of the return medium flowing to the primary heat source 10, to the temperature of the primary heat source 10, and is adapted to by-pass the primary heat source when the former temperature exceeds the latter. The heat sources 10, 11 also have service water heaters 12, 13 coupled in series, with the heater 12 of the primary heat source 10 coupled to the cold-water inlet 16. <IMAGE>
