Abstract

The invention relates to an oven for the preparation of sulphur dioxide by burning sulphur or a sulphur- containing material in a current of air. The device comprises a cylindrical combustion chamber 9, so designed that its length-to-diameter ratio is below 1, which combustion chamber is fitted with a tangential inlet 10.
