Abstract

The hand iron (1) has current fed to its heater element when it is held in its hand grip (2), and when in the rest position it is placed with the rear part (2a) of the hand grip against a base. Current supply is interrupted in all other cases. The hand grip part (2) has along its whole length a manoeuvring arm (5) rotatably fitted around a pivoting axis (6) at right-angles to its longitudinal direction. The arm is positioned adjacent a transition part between the rear (2a) of the hand grip and the back of the smoothing iron bottom plate (4). In the unloaded position, the manoeuvring arm (5) projects outwards along the hand grip part, both with its top and rear sections (2a), so that current supply is interrupted. In the loaded position, it is pressed into the hand grip (2) by pivoting around its axis (6) where it activates a current circuit supply switch (7). (Provisional Basic advised week 83/39).
