Abstract

A method of co-cultivating water-living animals (6) with photosynthesizing water-living plants. The plants, which are preferably macrophytes, are cultivated on land where they are not farmed in a water mass, but are only kept moistured by the continous application of a water film, preferably by spraying or dripping (at 4). The co-cultivation is carried out such that water from the animal cultivation, which is rich in N and P, is used for keeping the plants moistured and serves as a nutrition source for the plants. The plants purify the water by consuming N and P contained therein, and the purified water can be reused in the system (in 9, 10) or be disposed of without environmental hazards. The animals can be cultivated in a separated water mass (20), or they can be cultivated in mixture with the plants on land.
