Abstract

With the purpose of making use of residual heat in waste gases as well as purifying these from dust particles and acrid components, one connects a heat exchange device (19) in the exhaust pipe. The heat absorbing surfaces (20) are coated with acid-proof enamel and the heat absorbing surface sufficient in order to lower the gas temperature to under the dew point. Coatings on the heat absorbing surfaces are easily flushed with normal water, which circulates from a collecting vessel (34). There is a sensor in this (39, 42) which controls drawing-off when the ph-value reaches a certain level, respectively filling up with fresh water. Neutralization of the drawn-off fluid occurs in a tank (38) separated from the circulation system.<IMAGE>
