Abstract

The paper roll support provided with a brake consists of two identical hanging rods (2) and a brake plate (3) and the hanging rods run through loose holes in the two ends of the brake plate. The upper short ends of the hanging rods, which are bent at 90 DEG , are mounted loosely in the fastening arrangements (1) or holes and the lower ends of the hanging rods, which are also bent at 90 DEG in the same direction and the same plane as the upper ends, extend in the hard paper core (5) of the paper roll (4). The brake plate (3) presses with its own weight the paper roll (4) which has a perforated paper web (6) which can be unrolled with uniform pulling, the brake plate (3) pressing the paper roll with its suitably selected weight and with friction. The brake plate (3) can e.g. be coated or given such a shape that the friction is increased. The drying paper or the like can be separated easily with only one hand with an obliquely downwardly directed tug. On changing the paper roll, the brake plate is lifted upwards and at the same time the hanging rods are oulled outwards, the paper roll (4) freeing itself and it being possible to place a new paper roll in its place. <IMAGE>
