Abstract

The tree-felling device is suspended from a crane arm and comprises a rotator articulated to the arm via a horizontal shaft so that it rotates relative to the arm. A piston-cylinder assembly pivots the rotator from a horizontal to a vertical position. Between the rotator and the device (7,2) is a suspension link (9) which pivots around a horizontal axis (14) joined to the rotator shaft (15). The link is pivotably connected with the device via a horizontal articulated shaft, and similarly to the piston-cylinder assembly. It has a stop which, when the device is pivoted upwards to its vertical position, is brought into contact with the rotator shaft (13). This locks the connection between the suspension link and the rotator.
