Abstract

Transport device for the handling of goods in high storage places, where goods are stored on pallet frames or similar equipment on each side of an aisle, in which a manned or automatically controlled truck or crane runs. The truck or crane (10) comprises an upper and a lower load bearing device (15 resp. 16), located upon each other, of which at least the upper is adjustable on opposite sides, so that in a protruding position it can grip a load of goods (36) housed in the pallet frame from above or from the side. When the upper load bearing device (15) has gripped a load of goods in the pallet frame, the device with its load is drawn back in order to the lower it toward the lower load bearing device (16). The movement is controlled with the help of a photocell (30) and is made to stop, when the load (36) is located in the immediate proximity of the lower load bearing device (16), the pallet (37) or load (38) on this, after which the load (36) can be freed from the above mentioned upper load bearing device (15) in order to be unloaded from the pallet (37).<IMAGE>
