Abstract

The safety razor blade-assembly comprises the blade (13) mounted on a cap (25) and a guard-bar (16), the latter being offset from the adjacent cap edge to form an opening. One of the components is capable of movement relative to one or both of the others and to permit movement of the blade relative to the opening. The blade can pivot between positions where the cutting edge is exposed or retracted. The pivot axis (18) may be an axis of blade symmetry parallel to the cutting edge, and the movable component may be the bar. The blade may be mounted on a plate (12) which pivots relative to the cap, and is set in a case comprised of the cap with a base (26) and two end walls (23). The bar is integral with the plate.
