Abstract

This invention is a device on a parallel screw vice (1) that allows rapid tightening and loosening of two clamping elements (6, 7) movable in relation to one another, whereby a control unit between two clamp units (2, 4) contains a rod (10) along with a number of lock elements (12) connected to the rod, which through actuation by the rod (10) can be moved to and from a lock face (5A) that can integrate with said lock elements (12) and is connected to one of the clamp units. At least one space is situated along the lateral area of said rod (10) to receive one of said lock elements (12).This invention allows the quick, effective, and stable setting and locking of the screw vice in the desired position with the use of simple tools.Said lock elements (12), which for example can be shaped like plates, are designed in such a way that when released but inside of the appropriate receiving space in the rod (10) within said lock face (5A) the clamp unit (2, 4; 2<1>) is allowed to moved in the axial direction of the rod together with the lock element (12) and rod (10) to the desired position, and after rotation of said rod (10), be driven by a piece connected to the rod (10) and extending along the lateral area of the rod to be forced out radially to integrate with said lock face (5A) in order to lock the clamping elements (2, 4) relative to one another.<IMAGE>
