Abstract

The invention relates to a composition which will function as an ointment, salve, unguent or like product and which contains an oil product, particularly a lubricating oil product, in a proportion of at least 50 % by volume, and at least the major part of the remaining part of the composition comprises a viscosity-enhancing mixture. The viscosity-enhancing mixture comprises at least substantially tallow and zink-white, with the proportion of tallow exceeding the proportion of zink-white. The ointment is effective to heal sores and to prevent crack formations in hooves and foot pads.
