Abstract

The electric box is intended for the mounting of electric articles, such as outlets and switches. The box is rectangular and of a width fitting to a cable channel in such a manner that the side walls of the box can co-operate with the opposing contact surfaces of the cable channel. In order to facilitate the mounting and removal of electric boxes in and from cable channels the side walls of the box are provided with first resilient flaps (25) comprising contact surfaces (27). In the relaxed position of the resilient flaps these contact surfaces project outside the side wall of the box, and when the box is mounted in the cable channel they abut the inner side of the contact surfaces of the cable channel. The rim of the box is provided with stop means ensuring the abutment of the box against the outer side of the contact surfaces of the cable channel. The free end (27) of the resilient flap comprises a recess (28) accessible from the interior of the box in such a manner that the flap tongue can be pulled into the box. Adjacent the free end along the side rims of the resilient flap (25) said flap is provided with locking means (29) co-operating with corresponding resilient tongues (26) in the side walls of the box in such a manner that all the flaps, usually four, can be retained inside the box by the locking means while the box is pulled out of the cable channel. The box is shaped in such a manner that it can be adapted to most known channel systems and can receive most known types of outlets, switches, telephone points, data outlets. A partition may also be provided for dividing the box into at least two compartments. <IMAGE>
